getting real

It’s starting to get real, y’all. My final interior page proofs for The Miniaturist’s Assistant are due to my publisher tomorrow!

At this point, it feels like I’ve been through my novel with a fine-toothed comb hundreds of times. But this is my final chance to check the inside of the book for any mistakes (yikes).

This is real writing life. And it doesn’t get much more real than my messy desk, my messy in-bedroom office, and my unwashed hair—after two and a half days of my kids being in virtual school due to bad weather. But I’ve got my coffee warmer cranking (best Christmas gift ever), my Smokey the Bear “Resist” hoodie on, and I can do this!
