As a columnist with The Greenville News in Greenville, South Carolina, my columns appeared every Thursday in the Life section from 2014-2019. It was supposed to be a column about parenting and outdoor life–at least, this is how I was hired. However, the fine folks at the paper let me write about close-to whatever I liked, and so in addition to parenting and outdoor life, I often wrote about history, books, kids, the environment, teaching, memory, place, and more.
I was also a guest columnist for The Asheville Citizen-Times in Asheville, North Carolina. My columns there ran for three years on Saturdays in the Mountains section.
I was also columnist for Upstate Parent Magazine.
** My columns were frequently picked up across the country and in the U.K by other newspapers in the U.S.A. Today network, including U.S.A. Today, The Detroit Free Press, The Anderson Independent, the Herald Scotland, and more. A simple Google search will link you to most of my work.
