New column: “Autumn has ‘a mysterious influence upon the heart'”

I don’t know about where you live, but here in the mountains of Western North Carolina, it does not yet feel like Fall. The upper 70 and 80 degree days we’ve been experiencing lately are most definitely not the norm here in October, and I’m ready for the crispness this season promises.

The 19th century newspaperman, artist and angler Charles Lanman once wrote that, “Autumn has a most mysterious influence upon the heart.” I couldn’t agree more. So that’s what my newspaper column is about this week. I sure hope y’all enjoy it.
