A new essay in “Past-Ten”: on memory and miscarriage

redforwomenA few months ago, a writer/author/teacher/editor friend of mine, the lovely Donald Quist, asked me to submit a piece to his online journal, Past-Ten. Past-Ten is a wonderful publication that asks the question, “What were you doing on this day ten years ago?”

Of course, considering the answer to that question is an exercise in asking yourself much more. Where was I? Where am I now? How have I been? What is my journey?

In the summer of 2007, my little sister was getting married, and I had a miscarriage. Ten years ago feels far away and yet close.
