New column: “Loving college football is a Southern family tradition”

Today’s new column in The Greenville News is all about Southerners’–and my–collective obsession with college football. This love has certainly changed over the years, from the time I was a kid tossing a football with my buddies in Clemson University’s Memorial Stadium parking lot to today, when I’m usually watching on TV from my home in N.C. while my own babies nap.

But a college football game on a chilly Fall Saturday? There’s nothing like it in the world.
