Baby, it’s cold outside

caesarsheadIt was 18 degrees in my little Western North Carolina town when I woke this morning. Not so unusual–if it were January. But it’s only mid-November. I’m curious about what the winter forecasters have to say about it. No doubt about it, it’s COLD.

I am happily headed out this morning to an even higher elevation: Caesar’s Head, South Carolina. There I’ll visit with a very unique group of women who are reading Keowee Valley. I can’t wait!

Caesar’s Head has an historic past. Of course, originally part of the Cherokee nation, after it was ceded to the U.S. government (which is a very academic and mild way to put it) it became a resort spot for travelers heading up and over the mountains into North Carolina. In addition to the history, Caesar’s Head boasts an incredible state park, waterfalls, wildlife and more. Any visit to the Upcountry of South Carolina should include it.

Hope y’all enjoy this gorgeous, frigid Saturday. I know I will!
