the miniaturist’s assistant in foreword reviews

Friends, I’m utterly delighted that THE MINIATURIST’S ASSISTANT was chosen by Foreword Reviews for their May/June 2025 issue!

Only 100 books were selected out of 1,200 being considered, and not only will the review be sent to 2,500 American Booksellers independent bookstores, it’ll also be distributed at the American Library Association’s annual conference, coming up this June in Philadelphia. I’m pleased as punch!

Here’s a quick peek at the review:

“An enchanting fantasy novel … propelled by its plentiful romantic frisson … crescendoing toward a sense of love and fate….”

“An art conservator, a scholar, and a portraitist embrace the mysteries of love and ancestry….”

“… a single-minded, meticulous heroine driven by work in the wake of her divorce and buried grief … She believes that past and present are closer than they seem.”

~ from the May/June 2025 issue of Foreword Reviews
